To understand Paul, we must learn to interpret his correspondence. Although the apostle was not a prolific letter writer, most of our knowledge of him comes from a handful of letters he wrote to Christians living in Rome, Greece, and Asia Minor (modern-day Turkey)—not a lot on which to base our understanding of the man. Another obstacle to understanding Paul’s thought is the distance between him and us. He wrote nearly two thousand years ago, spoke a different language, believed different things about the universe, and assumed different cultural norms. In this lesson, we will consider how he wrote his letters. In so doing, we will open one more window through which we can peer into Paul’s life. Celtic Evensong: Wednesdays at 6:00 PM
Moning Prayer: Tuesday through Friday at 8:30 AM
