Glorifying God by caring for all people and the world around us

Welcome to Church of Our Saviour. This official web site provides information to visitors and members about the happenings at God's church in Placerville, California.

Placerville is in the heart of the California Gold Rush, in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Range. Gold was discovered in California at Coloma, 8 miles away. Coloma is the site of the Marshall Gold Discovery State Park.

We worship in the Anglican tradition, with our roots in English and Celtic mysticism, reaching back, beyond English Christianity, to the worship and traditions of Jesus' Apostles.
We are open to the movement of the Holy Spirit in our lives and in our church. The via media, the middle way, informs our actions and practices.

We are a welcoming community. All manner of people are welcome here.

Please join us in our journey with God. Visitors, please see our welcome page.

                                                                        2979 Coloma St

Parking is available in back of the church.

Although the labyrinth is an ancient construction it didn’t become popular in Christian use until the 12th and 13th centuries. Today we walk the labyrinth to experience our prayers and meditations.  It is a totally personal experience. You can walk and engage in centering prayer or simply repeat a single phrase or prayer such as the Jesus prayer (“Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy in me a sinner.”) You may adopt a theme such as walking your sorrows or exploring your personal journey.

We have available to us in Georgetown a lovely garden labyrinth.  On Saturday, May 30, a group of us will be driving to Georgetown to take this spiritual walk. Please join us for this special event sponsored by the Pastoral Partners of Church of Our Saviour. We have small, easy to carry pamphlets (from Forward Movement) to help you get started. Meet us in the church parking lot, 2979 Coloma St, Placerville at 9:00 a.m. for carpooling. If you want to drive on your own the address is 6690 Wentworth Springs Rd., Georgetown. Our scouts report that the way is well marked. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water.

If you have questions please contact Lee Weikert (644-0382).
